The Tutor's AI Playbook
Tuition class ends. The work doesn't. Sound familiar?
Marking, worksheets, workbooks, content, updates — tutors spend hours every week on work that follows them home. These AI workflows cut that time down so you can get back to the only part that actually matters: teaching.
Three things AI can do for your tutoring business
These tools didn't come from a tech expert. They came from a tutor who was doing the same late-night admin you're doing right now.
The person behind this page
I know what it feels like to finish teaching — and still have hours of work ahead.
I didn't start as a coach. I started as a social worker.
For more than ten years I stayed home to raise my three daughters, tutoring on the side to make ends meet. No grand plan — just a deep belief that presence matters more than productivity. It was for my eldest that I first started teaching Maths seriously. What began as a father helping his daughter became Learning Out of the Box.
Then I built it into something real. No connections, no existing audience — just a genuine love for teaching and a quiet commitment to building something that felt right for my students and for me.
Learning Out of the Box has since served more than 45,000 families across Singapore. I've published over 70 educational books. And I run a community of more than 19,000 parents who show up because they trust what I share.
“Peace over profit. That has always been the only strategy worth keeping.”
The AI Toolkit Built for Tutors.
You didn't start tutoring to spend your evenings on admin. These modules show you exactly which tools to use and how — so AI handles the repetitive work and you get back to teaching.
Most tutors post. Few tutors attract.
There's a difference between content that fills your feed and content that fills your classes. One is noise. The other is a system. Here's the exact framework — and the AI prompt — to build content that works while you teach.
Before you write anything, know which job this post is doing
Content without a purpose is just effort with no return.
The 3C Framework gives every post a job:
Content attracts new people who don't know you yet. These are stories, insights, and lessons. No selling. No CTA. Just value that builds your reputation quietly over time.
Community converts people already in your world. They follow you, they watch you — but they haven't moved yet. These posts go deeper. Your philosophy. A student breakthrough. A hard truth about the industry. This is what shifts a follower into an enquiry.
Connection retains the people who are already yours. This happens in DMs, replies, and one-on-one conversations. It's not a post — it's what you do after a post lands.
Before you open Claude, ask yourself one question:
Who am I writing this for — someone who doesn't know me, someone who's watching, or someone who's already here?
That answer changes everything about the post.
The prompt that writes the post for you
You don't need to be a writer. You need a clear idea and this prompt.
Fill in the three brackets. Paste it into Claude. You'll have a full draft in under two minutes — in your voice, with a hook, a story, and a PS that invites without selling.
You are a content writer for [YOUR NAME], a [SUBJECT] tutor in Singapore who teaches [PRIMARY / SECONDARY / JC] students. My tone is warm, direct, and story-driven. I write like I talk. Short sentences. No jargon. I care more about being useful than sounding impressive. Write a Facebook post based on this idea: [PASTE YOUR ROUGH IDEA, STORY, OR NOTES HERE] The post should: - Open with a single hook line that stops a parent mid-scroll (no question, no "have you ever", just a bold statement or unexpected observation) - Share a real moment or insight in 2 to 3 short paragraphs - Close with one line that leaves the reader with something useful — a reframe, a reminder, or a quiet truth End every post with this PS: PS — If you're a tutor who wants [SPECIFIC OUTCOME], I put together a free resource called [RESOURCE NAME]. Reply "[KEYWORD]" and I'll send it to you directly. Do not use hashtags inside the post body. Keep paragraphs to 3 lines maximum.
What to fill in:
| Bracket | Example |
|---|---|
[YOUR NAME] | John Yeo |
[SUBJECT] | Primary Maths |
[LEVEL] | P5 and P6 students |
[YOUR IDEA] | A student cried during a test and what I told her after |
[SPECIFIC OUTCOME] | grow your classes without running ads |
[RESOURCE NAME] | The Tutor's AI Playbook |
[KEYWORD] | PLAYBOOK |
The PS is the most important line you will ever write
The main post builds trust. The PS creates movement.
Most tutors skip it, forget it, or bury it at the end of a long paragraph. That's a missed conversation every single time.
The PS works because by the time a reader reaches it, they've already received value. They're not being sold to — they're being invited. And because it's separated from the body of the post, it reads as a quiet aside rather than a pitch.
PS — If you're a [WHO] wanting to [OUTCOME], I put together [RESOURCE]. Reply "[KEYWORD]" and I'll send it to you directly.
Three rules that make it work:
A link asks the reader to leave Facebook. A reply keeps them in conversation with you. Every reply is a warm lead who raised their hand.
Don't offer three things. The person reading is deciding in half a second whether this is for them. Make it obvious.
Someone who replies “PLAYBOOK” is telling you they want to grow their tutoring business. That's not a cold lead. That's a conversation already halfway started.
I'm a [SUBJECT] tutor and I want to write a Facebook post but I'm not sure what to write about. Here are three things that happened in my sessions this week: 1. [THING THAT HAPPENED] 2. [THING THAT HAPPENED] 3. [THING THAT HAPPENED] Which one has the most potential as a story-driven post for parents of [LEVEL] students? Tell me which and why, then write a first draft.
Use this when your brain is empty. Give Claude three raw moments from your week — even boring ones. It will find the story you missed.

What tutors are saying
Tutors who stopped trading time for money
Before working with John, I had a packed one-to-one schedule and zero room to grow. Within months I launched my first workshop, built my social media presence, and shifted to group tuition. The biggest shift wasn't the strategy. It was finally believing I was worth more than my hourly rate.
I wasn't expecting it to move this fast. Eleven days after implementing what John taught, I had closed $10,000 in revenue. I kept waiting for it to feel complicated — it never did. The framework just works when you stop overthinking it and start using it.
I was honestly a bit nervous to charge premium for one-to-one. I kept thinking parents would push back or just go find someone cheaper. They didn't. The first time I quoted my new rate, they said yes without hesitating. I wish I had done this two years ago.
